Occupation and Job Outlook

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, automated and electronic billing processes have streamlined billing departments, but job growth is expected due to an increasing number of transactions, especially in the rapidly growing healthcare industry, and employment is projected to grow faster than the average compared to all other occupations in the United States.*

Job growth, coupled with the need to replace workers who transfer to other occupations or leave the labor force, will generate a large number of job openings for receptionists and information clerks. In addition, numerous job opportunities will be created as receptionists and information clerks transfer to other occupations or leave the labor force altogether. Opportunities should be best for persons with a wide range of clerical and technical skills, particularly those with appropriate training and related experience.
